Save The Date Sweet Heart

A unique engagement or wedding gift - cartography sheet cut into a heart featuring a custom location of your choice - the city or country where the couple first met, or where they got married, or a place dear to their hearts.

This custom anatomy-inspired paper heart cut out is made using an original map by hand. This one-of-a-kind paper cut design was made using an old map mounted on a wooden display block and sealed with paint brush strokes for texture & protection. It’s a freehand cut out (unlike my solid paper designs), & features an interpretation of a heart's anatomy carefully extracted from an original map with an x-acto knife.

Artist Heath Robinson looks at different aspects of the artist's talents - from delightful children's book illustrations to drawings of crazy machines. Today Robinson is still most widely remembered for his wonderful humorous drawings. However, this type of work was only his third choice of career and one that he turned to almost by accident..

Trained at the Royal Academy Schools, it was his skills as a draughtsman combined with his unique vision that accounted for his success both as an illustrator and humorist. As a graphic artist he was constantly experimenting, adopting different styles to suit his subject. Other exhibits include pieces of china and books illustrated by Robinson.

Molly and Gabe will be married on Jamestown Island, in garden of a private estate on..... well you now know the date!

Setting aside their magnetic smiles, wouldn’t this “Save the Date” postcard make you want to go to this wedding?

Do have fun with your “save the date” cards. They can pre set the tone of your wedding. When planning a destination wedding, I suggest sending the save the dates out one year in advance and for the invitations 4 months out as a reminder to make hotel reservations.
