A tiara for your cake?

I enjoy mixing it up when designing flowers and cakes by adding beads, pearls and or hand sculpted flowers.
But I loved this use of a headpiece on a cake!

Need I say more!

Sea Joy

I found this charming poem by Jackie Kennedy when she was just ten years old.

Titled "Sea Joy."

When I go down by the sandy shore
I can think of nothing I want more
Than to live by the booming blue sea
As the seagulls flutter round about me
I can run about when the tide is out
With the wind and the sand and the sea all about
And the seagulls are swirling and diving for fish.
Oh – to live by the sea is my only wish.

It's so interesting that she found a fellow who so loved the sea as much as she did.

Jacqueline Kennedy's Wedding Bracelet was designed by JFK and Jackie together before their wedding in 1953. Jackie contributed the pearls and diamonds, while John added the two nautical ropes, representing his family's love of the sea.

America we have come so far...

Congradulations to Barack Obama

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer....."

A most wonderful speech about the last 100 years of our nations history. One reason I love in Newport is due to the American history it offers me. If you have a chance to go to the Newport Historical Society and take a walking tour. You can learn not just a lot about Newport, but so much the about the history of our country.

Fruit and Flowers for a Harvest Wedding

I did this arangment last year for the New England Socity of New York at the St Regis Hotel. I used cream, coral, soft green and red roses, rose hips, berrys, red apples, green pears, lemon leaves and cranberry crystal bling for fun. I love using fruit with flowers together its charmingly autumnal and It can stretch your flower budget as well !!

Celebrate your own Bling!

I had the good fortune of going to Moët & Chandon’s
100th Birthday at Lady Liberty, where they
launched the special edition bottle encrusted with
Swarovski crystals.
One of my brides was interested serving Bling water
also adorned with crystals.
But at $50 a bottle …I thought,
Why don’t you make your own?

HALLOWEEN IN NEWPORT

I took Jennifer and Christopher to the 6th Annual Ballard Park Pumpkin Tour.
What a wonderful fall experience!!!! This is a great collaboration of so many community groups. Ballard Park's quarry meadow gets transformed into a magnificent blooming garden of lights when thousands of Christmas tree lights, luminaries, and gobos and up lights enrich the park's three-acre quarry meadow, which includes a vernal pond, rock wall and groves of trees. And it’s free! But donations are graciously accepted. To find out about other events and party's go to www.gonewport.com

Shave The Date!

Molly and Gabe will be married on Jamestown Island, in garden of a private estate on..... well you now know the date!

Setting aside their magnetic smiles, wouldn’t this “Save the Date” postcard make you want to go to this wedding?

Do have fun with your “save the date” cards. They can pre set the tone of your wedding. When planning a destination wedding, I suggest sending the save the dates out one year in advance and for the invitations 4 months out as a reminder to make hotel reservations.

HoopSkirt101

I meet Rocco Michaluk while working on a wedding for a NY bride. I so enjoyed working with him that we co-produced a video called: Hoopskirt101(c)
The girlfriends guide to wearing a very large dress. With the help of Mrs Tinney at Belcourt Castle and a few wonderful friends, this "how to" video is dedicated to a Newport bride who will be wearing a "very large dress" next year!

I must say, I now have so much technical respect for craft of video and film making. When looking at the raw footage of HoopSkirt101, I just couldn’t figure out how to glue the footage, narration and music together. Rocco made it look so easy. He saw my vision and produced a perfectly wonderful video. Now I know why editing costs as much as it does. Its hours of hard work, skill and talent.
HoopSkirt101 is coming soon to a computer near you!

I will let you know when its up !

What would Jackie do?

From fashion to finance, a sophisticated and entertaining guide that shows readers how to attain the elegance and practical smarts that defined Jackie O.
We can't help but want to be like her: Exuding unmatched poise and style, she continues to fascinate people of all ages. But how would Jackie have handled the twenty-first century? What would she think about a society that celebrates outsized egos, instant everything and casual rules of conduct? How might she dress for the office, scan for a man, accessorize a home—and get away from it all when necessary? With intriguing research, commentary from today's experts, and fond reminiscences from those who knew and admired the First Lady of perfection, journalists Shelly Branch and Sue Callaway now offer a sparkling answer to the question “What Would Jackie Do?”

Shelly Branch is a very good friend from NYC who just "Gets It".
Im proud to have her as my friend.
This book is a hand book for any gal leaving the single life to launch her life as a Mrs.
