The"Grand Dame of Madison Avenue," The Roosevelt Hotel

The Roosevelt has that old world charm that I just love about New York.

Its perfect for a small wedding of 100 or a American Royal Wedding in The Grand Ballroom.

One step through the doors and The Roosevelt Hotel's magnificent ambience transports guests back to the classic setting of New York City in the Roaring Twenties. Renowned as the "Grand Dame of Madison Avenue," the hotel opened in 1924 and has been meticulously restored to its original grandeur.

Guy Lombardo is a name that has always been synonymous with the rich history of The Roosevelt Hotel. Lombardo and his orchestra performed their first show at the Roosevelt Grill on October 3, 1929 and continued to play there for the next 30 years. It was at the Grill that he first broadcast what would become a famous New Years Eve tradition, playing of "Auld Lang Syne".

The Roosevelt has stood tall since the hotel first opened its doors on September 22, 1924, and over the last 85 years it has remained a true icon of the City of New York. The Roosevelt has welcomed guests from all around the world and has been part our countries rich history. From the roaring 20's and prohibition, World War II and the baby boomers, Woodstock to Music Videos, and Y2K to Smartphones. Through it all, The Roosevelt Hotel has remained a true New York City experience.

The Roosevelt Hotel has appeared in several major motion pictures, including The Boiler Room, Wall Street, Quiz Show, Presumed Innocent, Malcolm X, Monday Night Mayhem, The French Connection, Hanky Panky, Maid in Manhattan, The Hoax and 1408.

Saint Luke's Gets Tropical At Diane von Furstenberg

Saint Luke's Luke's School fund raiser was a huge success last night. The Invitation asked the parents to come and "Get Tropical"

The silent auction on white paper with pink envelopes and gerber's inspired many competitive bids.

Benchmark created a menu that was by tropically inspired. My favorite was the pineapple upside down cake served at the end of the evening.

Katie Hollins special events team at Diane von Furstenberg was gracious, courteous and so accommodating.

I had such a great time designing this event for such a wonderful team of parents and educators.

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty

I just came back from the press launch for the show.

Stunning and shockingly beautiful. It was awesome show.

They were setting up the lobby for the Gala.
A large oak tree three stories high reside In the hall.
Flowering trees, and the grand staircase is covered with beautiful twigs and plants.

It looks a lot Like the royal wedding!

The exhibition, organized by The Costume Institute, will celebrate the late Alexander McQueen's extraordinary contributions to fashion. From his postgraduate collection of 1992 to his final runway presentation which took place after his death in February 2010, Mr. McQueen challenged and expanded the understanding of fashion beyond utility to a conceptual expression of culture, politics, and identity. His iconic designs constitute the work of an artist whose medium of expression was fashion. Approximately one hundred examples will be on view, including signature designs such as the bumster trouser, the kimono jacket, and the Origami frock coat, as well as pieces reflecting the exaggerated silhouettes of the 1860s, 1880s, 1890s, and 1950s that he crafted into contemporary silhouettes transmitting romantic narratives. Technical ingenuity imbued his designs with an innovative sensibility that kept him at fashion's vanguard.

Well Weds Hampton Affair at Brecknock Hall

Many Thanks to Krista Washburn for inviting me to participate in Well Wed Hampton's bridal event held this pasted weekend at Brecknock Hall.

Brecknock Hall is one of the most sought-after venues for Hamptons brides. A historical mansion restored from it’s 1857 founding, the Hall is Long Island’s most magnificent example of 19th century Italianate stone architecture. Featuring restored interior spaces, outdoor lawns for tents and landscaped grounds (including a pond), the manor provides an elegant, inspirational backdrop for any event! www.BrecknockHall.com

My flowers were chosen to be in the Fashion Show as well.
